Javier Orera presented his work, “Design of an Artificial Arterial System Using 3D-Printed Mold Silicone Casting,” at a conference held at Xinjiang University in China, which brought together experts in 3D printing from across the country.
His work attracted the interest of potential collaborators, and the Chengdu Frontier Medical Center of West China Hospital, Sichuan University, and the Biomedical Engineering Institute at Fudan University in Shanghai, China.
As a result, Javier Orera was invited to visit the facilities of the Chengdu Frontier Medical Center to identify potential areas of collaboration. Special interest was shown by professors working closely with clinicians in the CH2G group’s 1D cardiovascular simulators, inverse solvers, and experimental cardiovascular systems. As a result, they expressed their willingness to share clinical data with the group, with the aim of using these computational tools to generate predictions and explore future collaborative research opportunities.
