Javier Orera visited Xinjiang University in China to promote academic cooperation and attract talented students to the University of Zaragoza through future exchange opportunities.
The initiative was promoted and carried out by Javier Orera in collaboration with EUROMAQ GROUP, a Zaragoza-based company with international activity and links with both European and Asian markets. The visit aimed to strengthen academic links between Xinjiang University and the University of Zaragoza, while opening new possibilities for student mobility, talent attraction, and future collaboration in fields related to 3D printing, biomedical engineering, fine arts, design, and innovation.
Xinjiang University is a particularly relevant partner for this initiative, as it is the first university in China to offer an undergraduate degree specifically dedicated to 3D Printing. This makes it a strategic institution for developing future cooperation with the University of Zaragoza in advanced manufacturing and interdisciplinary applications of 3D printing.
During the visit, Javier delivered several presentations in Chinese to students from different academic backgrounds. Two sessions were addressed to students from the 3D Printing and Biomedical Engineering programs, where he introduced the University of Zaragoza and presented academic and research opportunities connected with international exchange, 3D printing, biomedical applications, and innovation.
In addition, Javier gave a separate presentation to Fine Arts students, focusing on Spanish architecture and its artistic, historical, and cultural value. The session introduced students to the richness of Spain’s architectural heritage and highlighted how studying in Zaragoza can offer them direct access to a unique environment where art, history, urban design, and cultural identity are closely connected.
The presentations generated strong interest among students and university professors. Many expressed their willingness to come to the University of Zaragoza next semester to take part in an exchange program, reflecting the positive impact of the visit and the potential of Xinjiang University students to contribute to the academic, creative, and research environment in Zaragoza.
This initiative represents an important step toward strengthening cooperation between Xinjiang University and the University of Zaragoza. It also opens the door to future student exchange programs, talent attraction, joint academic activities, and collaboration between academia and industry in Zaragoza.
