Luis Sánchez, a PhD student, and the recent PhD graduate Juan Mairal attended the 26th ARTERY Conference, “Innovations in Vascular Aging,” that took place in Split the 24th and 25th of September, 2026. This conference, organized by the Association for Research into Arterial Structure and Physiology (ARTERY), seeks to close the gap between clinicians, engineers, and other scientists working on innovations for the diagnosis and treatment of arterial diseases.
The two researchers from Zaragoza each brought a poster showcasing their work on the calibration of patient-specific models, a topic well-received by the conference attendees. Additionally, they attended the training school organized the day before, where several reserach groups and companies held live presentations of their products, including measuring devices for arterial pulse wave velocity, flow-mediated dilation, photoplethysmography (PPG) and speckle plethysmography (SPG).
